OK, I'm a little upset right now. And this has been bugging me for awhile.
For those of you who heard of TaFutureBoy or SSBVET, they both got machinima.com partnerships. I don't mean to offend those who enjoy their work, but this REALLY pisses me off. I'm working my ass off and always trying to find time off from my school work, tudoring (yes I tudor students), homework, and social life to make videos. And I don't know if you noticed, but I put a lot of damn effort into them. If you look at Future and VET's work then look at some others you may notice several differences. VET has like a bajillion technical mistakes and he doesn't record the audio with the right emotion to make it sound funny, serious, or move the video along. And he usually doesn't fix it. Also, Future is really lazy. His fight scenes I always skip through because he never puts any DAMM effort! Also, there both not that funny, I find myself just shaking my head when they try to pull a joke. Don't get me wrong, their original scripts are probably good, but damm...the way they execute them just ruins it. But, their learning from their mistakes (as I am) and gradually getting better.
Also, don't be all like "OMG! U THINK UR SOOOOOO MUCH BETTER!" Well, I'm not as good either, but I learn a lot faster to achieve my goals because I'm ambitious to satisfy my hunger for making cinema. I may procrastinate at some points because, I'm a perfectionist. For instance, if the scene isn't going well, I walk away from the video and start thinking on how to improve it and fix my mistakes. Some of you may not know that I take like 50 billion takes on just ONE line to make it sound even 0.01% better (like I said, I'm a perfectionist). By just doing that the video's flow is much smoother.
Anyways, enough of the shit talk. Let me get to the point now...I personally don't care for Future or VET's work, but getting a machinima contract? As you can see from the first paragraph that I emphasize their faults. I don't really mind if they DO get paid for this...but the fact that there putting little effort upsets me. Look at Graphiton for example. He seems to put a lot of time and effort into his videos, but is he a machinima.com partner? No. Why? Because, most likely because Future and VET know a lot of good machinimators. One of them may have just told machinima.com about their work when they were looking for more SSBB machinimators.
I don't know about you, but that doesn't sound fair. Someone who puts hard work into their videos, such as Graphiton, don't get noticed. But Future or VET on the other hand get a contract because they just have connections. It's like politics all over again.
A few afterthoughts: Well, a reason for VET or Future to make mistakes is because they're both busy. Also, I'm not saying I'm better than anyone else, it's just this bothered me. But that still no reason to NOT fix your mistakes.
Oh yeah, and one more thing:
DON'T FUCKING MESSAGE ME ABOUT THIS! I DON'T GIVE A FUCK ABOUT YOUR OPINION! (not trying to be rude, just wanted to get this nerve off of my chest)
